I don’t know if this is a coincidence, however I don’t believe so, I changed the meta in my headers on one of my sites to match the one you put in your post, and my traffic tripled in one day.

Now the site I tried it out on wasn’t getting a whole lot of traffic yet due to me focusing on other ones, but this traffic boost has opened my eyes. Now I am going to put it on all of my sites. Thanks for the great tip.

Sorry for the late in replying, I’ve been taking some time off

Wordpress a long time ago did allow you to do this, then they decided that you couldn’t. But now apparently you can, I’ve read forum posts and blog posts stating that you can now. I personally don’t use wordpress.com to add ads on. I’ve not tried it, but there is a way to load them from an external source if you can add javascript to the posts.

I took a look at your foodie blog, what i would do is add a 160x 600 ad unit at the top right hand side, above the image.

Your 60×468 ad units rather than leaving it right at the bottom, stick it in the middle of the post using “adsense manager” plugin.

That should help.

Other than that, for me personally blogs don’t convert well, but normal websites do, so if you can find yourself a good template, many out there for free around the food industry, and copy the text you have on your blog and start building a new site and placing the ads in the right place that stand out, should increase click through rates.

First, I want to say how much I am enjoying this case study–it is so educational and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do it.
I don’t want to jump ahead, so I’m writing to you from this day, although I plan to follow each day’s advice. I do, however, have a few questions!
1. I already have a wordpress blog (rjlacko.wordpress.com) and from all I can tell, Adsense is not allowed on Wordpress. How are you bypassing this?
2. I am using your advice for my other blog (unassumingfoodie.blogspot.com) Even though I am trying very hard to follow your advice, I have yet to get a single click on my ads, and I am only averaging 10 visitors a day (my blog is roughly 1 month old. Granted, I don’t have Article Wizard feeding it on a daily basis, I am writing everything myself, and many days I don’t have time to post because I’m working so hard at just building the site/ads. But even still, not a single ad click? What can I do??

Hi everyone

I gotta take some more time off, sorry. I’m not really feeling up to my best past few days. I thinks me need to see a doctor, I’m not sure if it’s something to do with my Spinal-Bifida Oculta or what (tattered nerve endings).

I’ve sorta been ok over the years, I can walk and what have you, but I get a lot of discomfort sitting in this chair all day long, 8-18 hours a day, even without what I was born with, those many hours in a chair is enough to give anyone a bad back I guess…lol

Any ways, it’s not the back pain that’s bothering me, I’ve kinda accepted that a long time ago and sorta automatically ignore the pain. What’s bothering me, which has been now for about 6 weeks, is right under my left Arse cheek, towards the middle of my thigh is just killing, like a trapped nerve or something, any ways, it’s bloody uncomfortable and can barely walk on my left leg, so much so I can’t sleep well at night and pumping myself full of pain killers isn’t gonna solve things.

I prolly need more excerise, gonna see how it goes for the next 2-3 weeks and try and stay off this PC for as long as I can and see if it’s the lack of excerise that’s causing this, if it’s not, then I need to get myself off to a Doctor by the end of this month if it’s not any better.

Here’s how I do it.

Article Directory 1, Article 1, keyword one. points to
Home page, and two inner pages. they’ll have anchor text as follows

Home page = Personal loans
Inner page = Home Equities
Inner page = faxless loans

Article Directory 2, article 2, keyword one points to
Home page, and two inner pages. they’ll have anchor text as follows

Home page = Personal loans
Inner page = No credit check loans
Inner page = secured personal loans

and so on.

Next lot of articles, for keyword two.

Article Directory 1, article 1, keyword 2
Home page, and two article directories. they’ll have anchor text as follows

Home page = Personal loans
Article Directory 1, article 1 = Keyword 1
Article Directory 2, article 1 = Keyword 1

And really mix it up some.

Already I’ve got like 25 back links from other sites that are using my articles that were posted to these article directories.

the 80 - 20 rule, sure, only works when you have people working for you, but in reality, in my opinion, you’re gonna spend more of that time on your own than having a network of people helping you.

Any hows, in this case, we’re not spending 80% in promotion here. 2 - 3 hours work a day, doesn’t equate to 80% effort put in. As time goes on, just like with many of my sites, I let them be when they’re getting around 200+ visitors a day. then pop back a few months later and spend prolly about an hour every other day getting more links.

As mentioned before, I set up RSS Feeds on my other network websites, so the back linking is automated each time a new post gets published, so it’s all good.

Just another short question:) All ebooks and stuff i have read while learning talk about the 80/20 rule. 80% content and website development and 20% promotion.

In this case it feels like 20% content and 80% promotion:) I guess this is because we have almost automated the content createtion. Do you have any thoguhts of this rule?

Pretty simple, Instant Article Wizard has many constructed paragraphs for you to choose from. The snippets of articles are just that really mate, paragraphs that Instant Article Wizard Creates.

I save all of these to a file, and import them into website content wizard to create hundreds more, even thousands more.

I am newbie at this. I have been following your site from day one. It is very helpful and informative. My question is in regards to article submission. How can you submit 30 to 50 articles on the exact same keyword. As an example if you are doing something on “dog grooming” as the keywords, do you need to have that many articles on the specific keywords. Also, can you explain more about snippets of articles. From the many offers? I’m not sure what you mean, sorry.

The tools I only use is Keyword Elite, Instant Article Wizard, Website Content Wizard (to rewrite the ones I did with IAW), Article Post Robot. And Adobe PhotoShop to create the graphics for the site(s), that’s about it really.

I keep going through all the stuff you are laying out and am trying to soak it all in. For us new folks this is alot to soak in and understand so I appreciate you starting from the bottom. There is alwys alot to learn while moving up but it usually lays the foundation to success.

Yup, I mentioned it in the post that a few were received. It’s not necessary to keep posting them.

Yup, top 726 x 90 has received some.

I’m not going to use the 336×280 until later, you may by all means test that out first, there’s no right or wrong way to start with what adsense block unit you want. I’m just doing it in this manner first before I move on to more testing.
