Improving Onpage Offpage SEO

As more of these videos are being made, more and more people are starting to understand what is involved in onpage and offpage seo. Although I can’t do analysis for every person’s site, this video and the previous two:
Video 1: Keyword Analysis With Keyword Elite 30 Minute Video, here’s the post if you want to read the notes on Keyword Analysis With Keyword Elite
Video 2: Reverse Engineering Competitors High Ranking Pages 50 Minute Video, also here’s the post if you want to read the notes on Reverse Engineering Competitors High Ranking Pages

And this 40 minute video, Improving Onpage Offpage SEO will help you understand that seo is really easy. In the hope I don’t keep sounding like a broken record repeating the same stuff all the time please refer to those posts and videos. Should I however realise that I’ve missed something out and it could be added to another video, then I’ll create another one. :)

The 3rd video there’s not really much to comment on, other than the use of java script menu links. Search Engines can’t read java script, all drop down menus should really be made in DHTML (Dynamic HyperText Markup Language).

Improving Onpage Offpage SEO VideoHope this helps a little more. :)

As always, showing your appreciation in the videos, a DIGG to this post would be great. Thanks.

    Great info…I learned a lot.

I’d love to be able to come back and watch these again for ‘revision’ - it’s a shame they’re so long.

Anyway, so long as people need the info, they’ll watch them whatever length :-)

Look forward to getting more from the site.

    Loz,

Thanks for your video again and an update for you.

My friend david thinks the seo problems have to do with a google 950 penalty now.
    http://www.bestwebsites.co.nz/webcontent/bws/fixing-google-950-penalty.aspx

We ran the w3c html validation on the website and there were 450 errors so more than normal ..

anyways an update for you .. FYI

I have no idea per his drop in the serps myself ..

    Hi ya

Yup, design of a site is very important. I tend to design sites mainly out of CSS/DIV tags, or very clean tables with various other code using XHTML 4.01 strict, or transitional.

So yup, having a clean designed coded site always helps, but main factors are due to where the links are coming from.

I personally don’t think the guy was penalized, if he was, he wouldn’t of had those site links when powder quest is entered in the search engine.

    All the best

    Loz

    Hi there Loz,

You will be interested to hear that they did a complete redesign ,etc with seo in mind and he is back up in the search rankings with a nice new site..

Yes, its mostly lightweight css, etc ..

    http://www.powderquest.com/home.aspx

Which sort of leads to its was more a too many validation errors, bad html coding ..

I always see a big bump when I release a new site also ..

    again thanks for the video

Great video Loz. Good to see how you make an analysis of a site with respect to on-page optimisation requirements.
I have to give my site a complete make-over using XHTML and CSS - no tables. Definitely makes the page more se friendly.

Keep up the good work, it’s very much appreciated.

Got something to say?
